What This Section Is About
Basically, I'm writing a dark LitRPG inspired by Bloodborne and Shadow Slave, focusing on a gritty story of a normal american guy suddenly thrust into a world of monsters and systems.
The reason I created this space here is specifically because I have "Worldbuilder's Disease", as Brandon Sanderson put it: I spend so much time thinking about Lore and Backstory that I basically never manage to write.
But, I was thinking, that doesn't have to be such a terrible thing, I think! In the sense of, what if I could actually share that worldbuilding with people?
A lot of people would argue that this will totally spoil the audience of the story, and... that's probably true. In fact, it might lead to complete financial failure, since people will have access to almost everything in the beginning!
At the same time, if I don't find a way to share my work, in a low pressure way, I'll probably never finish it.
And so here we find ourselves. Enjoy The Mad Prince of Charlain at your own risk!

My Inspirations
The Mad Prince of Charlaine is a dark LitRPG inspired by Shadow Slave, Bloodborne, and the works of HP Lovecraft.
The Setup
The Protagonist is just a Normal American Guy, when the world starts to go crazy.
At first, cases of psychosis spike at multiple locations around the world, and strange beasts emerge. Then some the whispers of those with powers. They don't stay whispers for long.
In just a few weeks, the world has spiraled into utter chaos, governments desperately hunting down "glitchers" -- those possessed of this mysterious power -- some to recruit them, and others to exterminate.
When The Protagonist starts to Glitch, he tries to keep it to himself, but as those around him grow more suspicious, the world becomes even more dangerous.
Fleeing for his life from a pack of ravenous beasts, The Protagonist finds himself running into the woods. As the sound of the terrifying animals dies away and he starts to calm down, he realizes that he doesn't recognize the plants around him, and as the forest ends, he realizes that he is absolutely not in his hometown anymore.
Completely unprepared for the terrain and lifestyle, Our Protagonist sets out to find civilization, but bad luck and ignorance assault him at every turn. On the brink of death, he is rescued and nursed back to health by a young pilgrim girl who has never heard of his world, but promises to take him to the mage's college when she finishes her pilgrimage.
It is a world full of terrors and dangers, but the pilgrim is strong, and begins to teach him. When the reach the first shrine, his system finally fully activates, at the surprise of the pilgrim he is with: she has never met someone without it.
And so, our protagonist sets out on the first leg of his long journey to return home, because, of course, nothing in life is simple.
