What This Section Is About

Basically, I live in Brazil and need to know Portuguese, but don't.

My husband is Brazilian, so of course he is fluent in Portuguese, but he is so fluent in English that we just speak English with each other all the time. In fact, his English is so good that I didn't even realize he wasn't a native speaker for months when we first were talking online.

But, living in Brazil, and wanting more independence, means that I really need to hurry up and learn Portuguese. My anxiety about not being able to communicate with other people in public is really holding me back, and also preventing me from making friends.

So, in the spirit of HTLAL, I am wanting to set up a compilation of the resources I have used, and my experience in using them.
